friend.surf is a new social platform designed to bring back the fun of surfing the web with your friends. No algorithms, just pure connection. We focus on real-time shared browsing experiences and curated discovery by people you actually know.

We are currently in a closed beta with select users. We plan to open up the waitlist for our public beta in Q4 2024. Join the waitlist to be notified as soon as spots open up!

Yes! The core friend.surf experience is completely free. We believe connection shouldn't be paywalled. In the future, we may introduce optional premium features for power users, but basic usage will remain free forever.

Most social platforms today are optimized for retention through algorithmic feeds. We optimize for connection. friend.surf doesn't have an "infinite scroll" designed to keep you addicted; instead, we have "surf sessions" designed to help you explore the web with friends.

Absolutely. We take privacy seriously. Your browsing history is not sold to advertisers. We only store the data necessary to enable the social features you choose to use. You can export or delete your data at any time.

During the closed beta, invites are limited. Once you gain access, you will receive 3 invite codes to share with your closest friends. We're rolling out access slowly to ensure server stability.

We are focusing on the desktop web experience first, as we believe surfing is best done on a larger canvas. However, a companion mobile app for iOS and Android is in development and expected to launch in early 2025.
